“…Think on these things: whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and whatever is of good report…” (Philippians 4:8), this is what you should think on. In other words, think positive.

The way to protect your mind and control your emotions, you must think in a positive way on your goals, priorities and as you interact with other people. And, being positive is the way to deal with problems and situations. Being positive is a way of being more resilient.

Being positive allows your mind to have thoughts and images of good, Godly things as opposed to negative, worldly things. Research has shown the advantages of being positive. Your attitude is more likely to be in a good place and your demeanor is more pleasant; people are more likely to want to be around you. The Bible is full of Scriptures with similar messages:
“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.” – Proverbs 12:25; “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?” – Luke 12:25; A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” – Proverbs 17:22.

I agree with what many researchers say about the importance of the concepts of resilience as it relates to mental and emotional health. It is important to have the ability to bounce back from life’s setbacks and having the faith of Christ to be empowered where you have a sense of control over your life.

The main way that I begin all my thinking is through the Spirit of God; using His Spirit is key. The other way is through repetition, training and practice, practice and more practice.
