Chapter 2 – Healthy Lifestyle
Psalms 1:1-2 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? I Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body. Romans 12:1-2 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. 1 John 3:4-9 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Chapter 3 – Spiritual Connection
Romans 1:11-12; I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong; Ephesians 3:20Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us; II Peter 1:4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. II Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. Hebrews 6:1 – Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God. Luke 17:5 – The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” I Peter 2:2-3 – Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. Romans 8:5 For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful; Philippians 4:6-8; Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through Him who strengthens me; II Timothy 1:7 – For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline; Mathew 6:34 – “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. 1Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? Romans 12:1-2 – Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship; III John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul; I Corinthians 9:27 – But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified; Proverbs 31:17 – She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong; Philippians 4:13 – I can do all things through him who strengthens me; I Corinthians 9:24 – Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Chapter 6 – Family Togetherness
Genesis 2:20-24; The Lord God fashioned into a woman the rib which He had taken from the man and brought her to the man. Proverbs 31:10-12 A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. Luke 1: 26-31 And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favor with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Genesis 2:18 The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 32:19 great in counsel and mighty in deed, whose eyes are open to all the ways of the children of man, rewarding each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his deeds. Psalms 57:2 I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. Romans 8:28 And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose. Matthew 6:33But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these. things shall be added unto you. II Corinthians 8:21 For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man. I Peter 1:2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance. Isaiah 26:3-4 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trust in you. Trust ye in the Lord forever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Galatians 5:24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 1 Corinthians 10:31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Proverbs 13:11 Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it. Hebrews 13:5Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Haggai 2:8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. Proverbs 17:16 Why should a fool have money in his hand to buy wisdom when he has no sense? Malachi 3:10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Romans 13:8 Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. Proverbs 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender. Proverbs 3:9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your produce; For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. Romans 13:7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed. Work:
Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. Psalms 90:17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us— yes, establish the work of our hands. Proverb 12:11 Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. II Timothy 2:6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. Hebrews 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 1 Timothy 5:8But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. 2 Thessalonians 3:12 Now such persons we command and encourage in the Lord Jesus Christ to do their work quietly and to earn their own living. School: (The Book of Proverbs was written to “teach us how to live, how to act in every circumstance;” Proverbs was written by King Solomon, the wisest man to every walk the earth.) Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. Proverbs 13:20 Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm. Galatians 6:6-10 One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches. Proverb 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver! Luke 6:40 The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher. Proverbs 2:1-5 My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. The Lord grants wisdom! His every Word is a treasure of knowledge and understanding.

Chapter 10 – Civic Involvement (Responsibility)
Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Proverbs 31:8-9 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy. I Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: Proverbs 11:25 A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. Proverbs 28:27 Those who give to the poor will lack nothing, but those who close their eyes to them receive many curses. Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Proverbs 22:22-23 Do not exploit the poor because they are poor and do not crush the needy in court, for the Lord will take up their case and will exact life for life. Zechariah 7:8-10 And the word of the Lord came again to Zechariah: 9 “This is what the Lord Almighty said: ‘Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another. 10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the foreigner or the poor. Do not plot evil against each other.’Proverbs 22:9 The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor. Romans 12:11-13Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Proverbs 14:31 Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. 1 John 3:17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. Proverbs 3:27-28Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. Do not say to your neighbor, “Come back tomorrow and I’ll give it to you”—when you already have it with you. Luke 14:14 Then Jesus said to his host . . . When you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. Proverbs 19:17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done. II Corinthians 9: 10-12 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.

Chapter 11 – Social Connection
Matthew 18:20 For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” 1 John 3:16 ¶ By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Romans 12:10 Love one another with brotherly affection. Galatians 6:10 So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith. Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and ball the more as you see the Day drawing near. 1 Peter 4:9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. James 5:16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. I Corinthian 14:26 Well, my brothers and sisters, let’s summarize. When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you.
